In 2003, GCCA recognized the revitalization of the 48th and Spruce Street business district as an important organizational priority. The Business District Committee was established to create and implement a plan for this revitalization effort. A written plan was completed in 2006.

 

Major Initiatives

Implementation of the Business District Plan: The major priority of the committee is the implementation of the Business District Plan. This includes important safety improvements such as new lighting for the corridor, as well as the installation of trees and greenery, updated signage, benches and bicycle stands to enhance the beauty of the corridor.
