GCCA Awards First Cheryl Roebuck Memorial Scholarship Award

Oliver B. Young is the first recipient of an award from the newly established Cheryl Roebuck Scholarship Fund. Oliver and his family reside in Garden Court and were fortunate to have met Cheryl a few years ago. Oliver will attend Girard Academic Music Program as a fifth grader and will be joining Musicopia String Orchestra this fall. We are pleased to help with his Musicopia tuition and look forward to hearing about his experiences and progress.

In honor of Cheryl’s lifelong contribution as a music teacher, musician and supporter of the civic life of Garden Court, scholarships are available to supplement the musical development of qualified elementary through high school students who live or attend school in the Garden Court area. One or more grants of up to a sum of $1,000 will be awarded annually, based on stated eligibility and award requirements.
