On July 11, 2018, Friends of Barkan Park participated in the first-ever Philly volunteer Park Tree Inventory at Barkan Park. The Friends Group joined Parks and Recreation staff, Tree Philly staff, and other local tree enthusiasts for a fun and productive session of collecting information on the health, location and size of the 20 mature trees of Barkan Park. The data will be uploaded to a central site and will help the city and volunteers to take better care of Barkan Park's
The GCCA Zoning Committee will hold their monthly meeting on Wednesday, July 18th at 6:30 pm in the Center for Culinary Enterprises (310 S 48th St).
