A new business, Honeysuckle Provisions - a grocery store and takeout spot founded by chefs Cybille St. Aude-Tate and Omar Tate and operating under the larger umbrella of Honeysuckle Projects - will be holding a soft opening this weekend at 310 S. 48th Street. Designed as an Afrocentric produce market and pastry shop, it will specialize in locally sourced products from African-American farmers and suppliers.

Freebird Greenery, 4711 Pine Street, opened in September

While you are in the neighborhood, check out Freebird Greenery around the corner at 4711 Pine Street - another minority owned business. "I always wanted a space that felt like community." said owner Adrienne Williams. It opened in September and carries a wide variety of house plants, pots, and even a locally made "propagation wall" for starting plant cuttings. You can buy a plant and a pot (or bring your own pot) and have it repotted on the spot. All 5-star ratings on Google Reviews.
